If you’re interested in joining our data team, know that no data scientist or data engineer is limited to a prescribed set of tasks. We invest heavily in our data team’s growth, beginning with a comprehensive onboarding program so you can meet the right people and gather the context you need to be successful.

Our hackathons are legendary and so are our social events. You’ll get lots of opportunities to pitch, present and learn.

What’s the hiring process?

Who will you meet?

You’ll meet at least five different people, which gives you the opportunity to ask questions about diverse parts of the business.

How long is the process?

Depending on your availability, we aim to complete the full process within two weeks from initial screening to an offer.

Are interviews on site?

We can be completely flexible here. We have on multiple occasions hired people after a fully remote interview process.

How quick is feedback?

We aim to get back to you within 24 to 48 hours either way. We make sure you get honest and clear feedback to either help in the next stage or in future applications.

What’s the hiring process?

Pre-onboarding

After receiving your offer and signing your contract, you’ll get emails and requests asking for information to make sure your first few days and weeks go smoothly. You’ll organise your equipment and get a feel for what your diary looks like.

Tech in ten

This is a dedicated onboarding course for our engineers to help them set up their environment, learn about our domains, and get to grips with our ways of working.

Your first three months

This is a time for settling in and upskilling in the areas necessary to do your role effectively. You’ll integrate into your team and start bringing real value to the business. You’ll have regular meetings with your manager to make sure you’re on track.

Thrive

This is a three-day training course that you’ll attend in your first few weeks with other new starters from across the business. You’ll learn more about the whole business, the insurance market, your available benefits and our values.

Working here as we get back to normal

After working remotely for so long, we have a vision for how our people will work with each other, now and in the future.

Every employee should have the choice and flexibility to work in a way that’s best for their job, their team and their life.

We know that being together in person is usually the best way to get work done, which is why our offices are becoming ‘hubs’ that we expect our employees to visit every so often. That said, there’s no one-size fits all solution, so all of our people and teams can find the rhythm that suits them best.

Can you do interviews at different times?

If you’re currently working, you can choose a time that suits you, whether it’s early morning, the evening, or even weekends. We’ll do our best to make sure that you meet the people you’ll be working with. We can also offer programming assessments via our cloud-interviewing partner Karat.
